A modern IoT-powered event management platform developed by Elcoan Lanka to help organisers connect physical IoT devices directly to their event operations

A modern IoT-powered event management platform developed by Elcoan Lanka to help organisers connect physical IoT devices directly to their event operations. The system was built to support smart, intelligent, and automated event execution by combining real-time device connectivity, cloud messaging, and AI-assisted decision making.

Built with Next.js for the frontend, Node.js for backend services, and AWS IoT Core for secure device connectivity, the platform enables event teams to manage both digital workflows and connected hardware from one unified system.

Key Features

IoT Device Onboarding Users can add and manage IoT devices assigned to specific events

  • Event-Centric Device Mapping Devices can be linked to venues, booths, access points, counters, displays, or monitoring zones
  • Real-Time Monitoring Live dashboards show connected device status, telemetry, and operational health during events
  • Smart Alerts & Notifications Automated alerts for abnormal conditions, device failures, queue congestion, or environmental changes
  • AI-Assisted Event Automation Intelligent workflows for anomaly detection, event condition analysis, and automated responses
  • Centralised Event Management Manage schedules, device roles, event data, and operational workflows from one interface
  • Scalable Cloud Architecture AWS IoT Core enables secure communication with large numbers of connected devices

Technology Stack

  • Frontend: Next.js for responsive operator dashboards and admin interfaces
  • Backend: Node.js services for APIs, orchestration, and business logic
  • Cloud IoT: AWS IoT Core for secure device messaging and telemetry ingestion
  • AI Layer: Smart rule-based and AI-assisted automation for event intelligence

Use Cases

  • Smart exhibitions and trade shows
  • Automated conference venue monitoring
  • Connected access control and crowd flow analysis
  • Intelligent environmental and equipment monitoring during events

The platform was designed as a scalable foundation for next-generation event operations, where connected devices, cloud services, and AI work together to improve efficiency, visibility, and decision-making in real time.
